Leadership the world over is in crisis

Let’s fix it together

How will you show up in the face of this monumental challenge?

Global unrest, political upheaval, volatile stock prices, and rapid market disruption, among other systemic challenges, are all teaming up to make running a business harder than ever before.

Gone are the days when you could plan a product launch a year or even six months out. A 3-5 year roadmap seems laughable today, never mind the 5-10 year plans we made just a few short decades ago.

Likewise, we can no longer depend on the outdated, lumbering, command-and-control style leadership mechanisms that served us in the past. Leaders today must be responsive, nimble, and flexible. They must lead through influence and support, not through carrot and stick.

The World Economic Forum has been warning us of this situation for years. In fact, in 2015, they stated, “A startling 86% of respondents to the Survey on the Global Agenda agree that we have a leadership crisis in the world today.”

And things have only progressed from bad to worse since then. We have frittered away a decade soaking up the short term gains and now we are facing a monumental challenge. Either we face this test now, head on, or business as we know it might very well not exist in the near future.

If you and your organization are going to survive the current business climate, you must up your leadership game. When done well, leadership simplifies your business, streamlines both your products and your processes, and results in improved business outcomes, happier, more loyal customers, and eager, dedicated employees.
