It’s been 42 years since Dolly Parton released her Grammy-winning song, “9 to 5.” Sadly, aside from the hairstyles and dresses, not much has changed in the world of work in that time.
For many, work days still feel like “all takin’ and no gettin'” and “a rich man’s game no matter what they call it.” And as many of us return to days in the office, we’re even back to the rush hour “traffic starts jumpin'” grind.
As leaders, we are in a unique position to affect change. We have the privilege and platform to do something, however small. Pour yourself “a cup of ambition” and use your power for good. Isn’t 42 years long enough?
